They say a baby will make our life meaningful! Thats exactly how we feel till date. We got a planned surprise on March 2019 after 2 years of enjoying our couple life, roaming around South Africa that’s were my husband gotta work for 2years of contract for a chennai based IT company. We enjoyed as if we can’t enjoy such a way of life after baby, most of the times this is true! And then we applied for Work visa for me there, and then we also decided that its time to plan for a baby (mainly cos of other’s words “oh,its been 2yrs, i want grand”son” soon, people are asking me about you both, what shall I answer them and the list goes on from both of our parents!).
We also received an email stating my visa is approved which we never thought that this will happen so soon! I would go to government offices directly by myself and collect the documents, come back home by train. All set to start the job search. We thought everything is going on track. We got what we wanted, but we didn’t realize that we are sacrificing job for baby, actually we didn’t try for job at all, I’m now worrying that how I was so mindless that my next task is to try for a job but I didn’t., I as usual cooked lunch for my husband and his friend, packed 2 lunch boxes within 8.00am, and stayed alone at home drinking tea and wait for my husband, I’m not sure how we took the career so easily and carelessly, and we didn’t knew that that was the biggest mistake we have done to ourselves.
If I had taken up any job there despite of my pregnancy, we could have been delivered baby there, but then corona would have blocked us for almost 2years to travel, or my husband would have stayed there by extending the visa, still I would have been here alone with baby, without daddy next to us, because of corona. The phrase “Life is a rollercoaster” is true. But everything is turned positive though we couldn’t go back to SA anytime soon, life is pretty much smooth on the other track of road where the baby has grown up with his grandparents, he knows what is joint family is, he sees more people here, travelling alot with us to restaurants, to other cities like chennai and salem, learning good and bad things, good proactive thinker, karpoora buthi(powerful grasping power), already learnt almost all kind of household chores. Nothing to complain about life after baby.
